De-escalation training for security and reception teams.
Your officers and receptionists meet every visitor first. Double Take lets them practise the hard conversations where they work: an AI character appears at the desk or the gate, and they talk it down by voice. Every session ends with a scored debrief.
The gap between the course and the desk
Training happens once. Conflict happens every week.
Many officers learn conflict management on their licence course and rarely practise it again. The first real test is a contractor with no pass, or a visitor who will not take no for an answer, with a queue watching.
Role-play does not fit a 12-hour shift.
Classroom role-play needs a trainer, a room and people off the rota. On a busy site that rarely happens, so practice slips until the annual refresher, and the skills fade in between.
Policy is easy to state and hard to hold.
Anyone can say "no pass without host confirmation". Holding that line while someone gets louder, without making it worse or giving in to end it, is a skill. Skills need repetition.
More than 450,000 people in the UK hold an SIA licence. In a 2021 survey, 68% of security officers had no training after their first qualification.

How Double Take helps
Practice at the real desk
The tablet places a life-size character on the visitor side of your own reception desk or gate. The trainee practises in the place where the real conversation happens.
A character that reacts to tone
The trainee speaks normally and the character answers in voice. Its agitation moves from 0 to 10 with what the trainee says and how they say it, so tone matters as much as words.
Ten minutes on shift
A session takes less than ten minutes and needs one tablet. Officers practise in a quiet moment, as often as they need, with no trainer in the room.
A scored debrief every time
The debrief scores opening and tone, active listening, holding boundaries, offering options and safety awareness, and shows the moments that changed the outcome.
Three scenarios in the beta
The beta starts at a building reception: a contractor with no pass and a host who does not answer, a confident man who follows staff through the speed gates, and a frightened visitor who needs to find his wife upstairs. More are in development.
Questions security and reception teams ask
Is Double Take suitable for SIA-licensed security officers?
Double Take is built for security officers and reception teams, including SIA licence holders. It gives repeat practice of the conflict management skills their licence course teaches. It is practice, not a qualification.
Can reception staff without an SIA licence use Double Take?
Yes. Double Take is for anyone who meets visitors first, licensed or not. The beta scenarios are set at a building reception, with a site policy the trainee must hold.
Does Double Take work on a site without space for AR?
Yes. When there is no space to place the character, a flat-screen mode uses the same character and the same scoring.
How do security teams fit Double Take into a shift?
A Double Take session takes less than ten minutes on one tablet. Officers can practise in a quiet moment on shift, without a trainer or a classroom.
